What Is America’s Role In The World? How Far Should We Go?

I like many Americans am questioning Obama’s decision to send troops to Haiti. I feel awful for the people in Haiti and hope only the best for them. But we are fighting in two wars right now, we have an economy still in shambles, people are losing jobs left and right, and the President is fully focused on health care. So should we be sending troops to help that nation when we have so many other problems we need to focus on?

Wow, Obama sure did get lucky in the past month or so. No he didn’t pull a Clinton, although no one would know if he did because he can define the word “is”. He got lucky with the troop surge in Afghanistan. If he had chosen not to increase troop levels in Afghanistan and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab had been successful in his attempt to blow up Northwest Flight 253 then Obama would have had to kiss any chance he had a reelection goodbye. His luck is one thing, but his handling of the attempted attack was another. The only word to describe that is, awful!

12 Dead, 31 Wounded in Fort Hood Shooting: My Thoughts and Reactions

Today an armed gunmen, Major Malik Nadal Hasan, 39, drove onto Fort Hood Army base, where he was stationed, and began shooting. The latest numbers are that there have been 12 people killed and 31 wounded. One of the original wounded died bringing the number of dead from 11 to 12. Major Hasan was originally believed to be dead, but it has since been reported that he was wounded but alive.

Financial Fear Mongering from the White House

A few nights ago the President gave his first Presidential News Conference in prime time. He spoke of the economy, the economic stimulus package and a few other items. After his speech he took questions from various different “unusual” reporters, including one from The Huffington Post. President Obama also focused on the stimulus which was passed by the Senate yesterday by a vote of 61-37. The President is doing things he should have done weeks ago, he is getting out there and spreading his message, no matter how moronic that message may be.

Terrorist Tried to Blow Up Airliner, Lit Himself on Fire Instead

Today there was an attempted terrorist attack onboard a Delta flight en route to Detroit. A Nigerian man allegedly tried to ignite a powdery substance as the plane neared its destination on Friday in an effort to blow up the aircraft, a senior U.S. counter-terror official told the AP. The White House released a statement calling it an "act of terrorism."

Tiger Doesn’t Let A Little Bad Press Keep Him Down, Still Seeing Rachel Uchitel

There are reports from InTouch Magazine that Tiger Woods is still seeing Rachel Uchitel. His yacht, Privacy, has been seen in Palm Beach, FL where Rachel Uchitel has also been spotted. She refused to comment on the situation, saying she was just visiting her family.
