A New Day, A New Year, It’s 2010!

Happy New Year! Well we’ve made it through 2009! It’s 2010 baby and everyone’s looking forward to a better year. We have the winter Olympics coming up really soon in Vancouver, some awesome football. I can’t wait to watch some of these college bowl games… especially the Championship. Go Bama! I can only hope that this year will be better for everyone. I know that most people had a rough year last year, especially with the economy and the job market, or lack thereof. But the stock market rebounded toward the end of last year and ended in green, so there’s a lot to be optimistic about. 2010 also means it’s time for midterm elections, it will be really interesting to see how it turns out. I am a little bias, but I think the Republicans are going to have a good year.

But most importantly I hope that it’s just a good year for everyone! I am looking forward to it and hope that it will be a successful year for all. I’m pumped, 2010, let’s do it!

Man Robs Taco Bell, Then Request A Job Application

Only in New York can a guy rob a Taco Bell and then ask for a job application. An armed man walked into a New York Taco Bell and demanded money and a job application, police said, according to MyFoxNY. The man walked in with a weapon and pointed it at the cashier. He demanded the cash out of the register. After getting nothing from the cashier this genius made his way to the managers office to ask for a job application. I guess he figured he could get more by actually working for a living… who knew.

CIA Invest In Firm That Monitor Social Media Sites

There has been some news recently of Visible Technologies, a software company that monitors social media websites like Flickr, Twitter and Amazon. It currently doesn’t mess around with closed or personal social networking sites like Facebook (so for all the terrorist reading this, don’t fear, your Facebook accounts are safe, you can still comment and share photos of yourselves slaying puppies or something). The software also pulls together over a million post and conversations a day from blogs, forums, and social networks. Users of the Tru product line get live news feeds of what is being said on these sites based on the keywords chosen by the customer.

NASA to Bomb the Moon

08 Oct 2009, written by Dustin Mooney 0 Comments

In a search for water, because apparently roughly 70% of the earth isn’t enough, NASA plans to bomb the moon on Friday. For anyone looking for kicks on a Friday night, make sure you grab you (medium size) telescope and glance on up, the plume is supposed to be large enough to see. This little project is going to cost the American tax payers around $79 million… now I don’t know about you, but that’s a little pricey to me. It reminds me of all those infomercials you see on TV where you can feed a starving child for just a dollar a day, well damn, this little expedition could feed a shit-load of kids. But that’s NASA for you, hope they find what they’re looking for, otherwise this might be considered a waste of time. I do want to add that I support space-exploration and all that, but I am just not sure about this little project.

What Is America’s Role In The World? How Far Should We Go?

I like many Americans am questioning Obama's decision to send troops to Haiti. I feel awful for the people in Haiti and hope only the best for them. But we are fighting in two wars right now, we have an economy still in shambles, people are losing jobs left and right, and the President is fully focused on health care. So should we be sending troops to help that nation when we have so many other problems we need to focus on?
