Let’s Help Haiti
21 Jan 2010, written by Dustin Mooney 0 CommentsHaiti has been struck by disaster. While I recently wrote a post where I talked about how I thought it was the wrong decision to send troops to Haiti, that doesn’t mean I don’t think we should help. Any amount that can be given should be. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world and they need our help now. Here is a statement from the American Red Cross:
On January 12, a series of earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 6.5 to 7.3 devastated Haiti. The American Red Cross is working with its partners in the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network, including the Haitian Red Cross, and other partners to assist those affected by this disaster.
Your gift to the American Red Cross will support emergency relief and recovery efforts to help those people affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Assistance provided by the American Red Cross may include deploying personnel, sending relief supplies, and providing financial resources.
So I ask you to help Haiti out by donating whatever you can spare. I know economic times are hard, but no matter what we may face as Americans pales to the lives of Haitians on a daily basis. I encourage you to make a donation to the charity of your choice. While I have put links on the site to the American Red Cross, I also know that UNICEF and Care are incredible organizations who are doing a lot to help those who are struggling in Haiti. I hope that you will do what you can to help those in Haiti during their time of need.
